Perfect For
Physiotherapists who have completed a hippotherapy course are looking to refine practical hippotherapy skills and deepen clinical reasoning, irrespective of whether they are practising.
This study day will give you an opportunity to see real hippotherapy sessions, be involved in planning and delivering therapy sessions, as well as guide you in assessment, goal planning and clinical reasoning for therapy delivered on the day. We will meet online a week before the course on Friday, 23rd, for a Zoom meeting for 90 mins. We will then meet together at Washington riding centre ( NE37 3HR) from 9 am till 5 pm for a face-to-face study day. We will follow up on the course on Monday, 2nd Feb, to consolidate our learning and finish our discussions.
I hope this course will give you an opportunity to fine-tune your handling skills, to handle children in a range of positions, and to increase your confidence in assessing, treating, planning, and goal-setting for hippotherapy treatments. You will leave the study day feeling more confident and ready to transfer these skills to your own context.
