Imprint Occupational Therapy

Overview
My career into Occupational Therapy and practising hippotherapy began when I was 14 and I started volunteering at my local Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) Centre– I qualified as an RDA Coach in 1998, and through work experience, friendships and other opportunities taken as a direct consequence of my RDA work, I completed my degree in 2002.
I have worked in London and Surrey in a broad variety of settings (hospitals, community centres and hospices) and across numerous clinical areas (including neurology, cardiothoracics, respiratory, surgery, intensive care, palliative care, and early powered mobility), while in parallel maintaining my passion for the therapeutic benefits of being on and around horses. As a result of my experience, I have developed highly specialist skills and knowledge in Occupational Therapy for young children with a primary neurological condition and with associated learning difficulties.
I was thrilled to pass my Masters modules via Robert Gordon University in 2021 and be able to incorporate hippotherapy theory into my work. In a real full-circle moment, in 2023 I started Equine Facilitated Occupational Therapy using hippotherapy, at Epsom RDA, back where it all began.
