Rita Seery said the following:

I am a postgraduate student at Queen’s University Belfast, currently exploring how Equine Assisted Services can benefit the public. To date, little research has explored practitioners’ perspectives and experiences in relation to practitioner understanding and knowledge of equine behaviour, an area linked to safety. To address this gap in knowledge, I have created a survey designed to gather important information in this area.

As a practitioner of an Equine Assisted Service, I would be very grateful to gain your perspective in this area by inviting you to complete a short online survey. This survey should take approximately 15 minutes and will require you to answer some questions about your perspectives and background in relation to your service and your understanding and knowledge of equine behaviour. Most questions require you to tick one or more boxes, although a small number of questions may ask you to elaborate on your answer.

There are no foreseeable risks to participating in this study. The information gained we hope will provide new insights to help direct future practice and education in this area.

Participation in this study is completely voluntary and you may withdraw at any stage.

All data collected will be securely stored in compliance with current data protection laws.  No identifying information, such as your name and contact details, will be asked and your responses will be entirely confidential.

This study has been granted ethical approval (EPS 24_166). The survey can be accessed through the following anonymous link;
