Please contact me for more details.

I am a Chartered Physiotherapist (HCPC registered), a competent rider with a passion for horses and their Therapeutic benefits. I have extensive experience working as a Physiotherapist on the ground for children with complex neurological disabilities as well as completing the Chartered Physiotherapists in Therapeutic Riding and Hippotherapy (CPTRH) qualification in Hippotherapy and Equine Assisted Physiotherapy. I have specialised in Hippotherapy for the last 5 years whilst working at Chailey Heritage Foundation (see Video) as well as running my own private practice.

Hippotherapy is a form of Physiotherapy using the movement of the horse to provide motor and sensory input. Elements of Occupational therapy and Speech and Language therapy are incorporated into sessions via the use of different fun activities. The child may be placed in a number of different positions on the horse in order to maximise the therapeutic input.

Despite being very much a therapy session, we try and make the sessions as enjoyable as possible so the child is engaged in an activity that is fun, exciting, physically challenging, and gives a sense of independence. It provides a recreational activity outdoors, while all the time helping to develop cardiovascular fitness, balance, core strength and coordination.
