The Autumn forum will focus on both Horse and Human and how critical is it to get that relationship right - the co-morphic partnership.
In particular we will cover how we each determine whether our services are right for the individual human and whether EAS is right for the horse. Given the large variation of offerings within EAS and a number of different ways horses can be involved it really is a case of HORSES FOR COURSES.
We look forward to sharing and discussing assessment criteria and learning from everyone’s experiences.
HETI(UK) AUTUMN FORUM
11th October 2024 10am – 4pm
at TheHorseCourse, Weymouth, DT3 5DL
MINIMAL PARKING so 25 attendee limit. (Max 2 from any organisation).
This Forum will be devoted to scoping out a multi-site EAS efficacy study – so we really want attendees who are keen to participate in research about the EFFECTIVENESS of their EAS service! We hope to demystify and empower practitioners to take an active role in research.
The day will be run in a workshop style to aid collaboration, with a few short presentations to empower us all to fully participate.
Professor Ann Hemingway and Kez Sullivan will speak on:
The EAS evidence base to date and where the gaps are
Types of studies – and what is involved for practitioners
And will be there to answer questions and provide guidance all day
Various HETI members will give 10 minute updates on multi-site studies they are already involved with.
OPEN CALL – Please email if you would like to present in this section.
We will then work together to identify common referral criteria and outcomes; think about existing datasets; brainstorm study designs and aim to end the day with concrete plans for one or several studies!
Bring your own lunch (or there is an M&S food shop nearby). After lunch there will be a “have a go”, session with TheHorseCourse ponies and facilitators for those who wish to see/experience our approach, before we continue the brainstorming.
